About
Two of the biggest names in piano teaching, EPTA UK and the Purcell School, have joined forces to create a piano teaching course designed to make you both a better teacher and a better pianist. By refreshing the skills of existing practitioners as well as guiding and giving confidence to those new to the profession, the course will:
- — Cover all essential teaching skills and enable you to become a more proficient and inspiring piano teacher;
- — Enhance your craft as a pianist by learning from eminent pianists and teachers of international standing.
- — Result in the Certificate of the Piano Teachers' Course (Cert PTC), a recognised piano teaching qualification.
The Cert PTC is accredited by Reading University, and entitles you to full membership of the prestigious European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA). The qualification. particularly in conjunction with membership of EPTA, will establish your credentials and help attract many more pupils to your door.
Appropriately qualified and successful students of the EPTA (UK) - Purcell School Piano Teachers' Course can be accredited with 40 credits at M level in recognition of the course when applying for the MA in Instrumental Teaching at Reading University.
Please note that this accreditation is available only in relation to the MA in Instrumental Teaching. All enquiries to the MA's programme director, Nils Franke: n.franke@reading.ac.uk.
